White Cell Fever!

Good news from the all the way down at the cellular level of team doughten:

Please pass along Middie Mom's update from today.  We're very thankful that her white cells came down a little. (We want them to come down some because they're higher than they should be right now---but praise God they are to help her fight this cold.   We know our God is working.  Her red cells and hemoglobin came down just a tiny---we need to pray to that they will go up only to where they are suppose to go.  Her platelets dropped ALOT---- they were in the 70s today.  We need to pray that they will NOT drop at all and our God will raise them to where they should be.  They have been in the 50s a couple times a long time ago, ( not this summer but the summer before).  WE KNOW HE CAN DO IT!!!!

Ann's Update

the latest happenings from auntie ann:

I'm not sure what's going on, so I want you to please pray.

On MOnday Middie Mom went to the dr. because she had a sore throat in the night, she had a couple small nose bleeds, and she has a cold.  The dr. didn't give medicine, but did put silver nitrate up her nose because of a sore which he said caused the small bleeding.

Now, it sounds like she can hardly breathe through her nose.  She said it's cold, I know everyone thinks I'm crazy, buty it doesn't sound normal to me.  You can constantly hear this heavy stuffiness ALL THE TIME.  I'm wondering if she has a reaction to the medicine, a sinus infection, ot a ptoblem relater to hert anartsnap.  Please pray for hert an d that our GOd willl heal this problem.

Thanks so very mucvh.  We love you all!

Love and Prayers,
AUntie Ann

P.S.  A kindgarten teacher (who usedf to be next dr to me YEARS AGO, came up to me yesterday and asked me to pray for her dad.  They just found out he has cancer badly in his kidney/liver.  I don't think the famly know Jesus.  Please pray for all of them  Thanks HEr name is Kelly Batten.

The Case of the Mistaken Gourd

The following is a true story:

On a lovely Fall day, two members of team Doughten set out on a quest to decorate their house for the fall. Faith asked Aaron to go buy her a gourd at the market.  Having never purchased a gourd before, Aaron ventured out to retrieve said item, thinking it should look like this:

Unfortunately, Faith was thinking more along the lines of this:

Apparently the gourd in question was for a wreath and therefore it's description fit more appropriately under the category of mini-pumpkin (think circle) as opposed to a long, squash-like item, at least according to Aaron.

Thankfully, another "gourd" of the appropriate spherical shape was located and disaster was averted....this time
